Lockheed
Martin Audit Fully Approves Rothe for AS9100, Q4M, and ANSI
Z540
02 December 2009 (Houston) – Rothe Enterprises, Inc. announced
that its Manufacturing Division successfully completed its
quality management system audit by Lockheed Martin Space Systems
today. The purpose of the audit was to determine our suitability
as a supplier for Lockheed Martin programs as an AS9100 supplier.
Rothe is currently manufacturing components and assemblies
for the Orion project.
The audit, that started on November 30th, reviewed the division's entire quality system to the SAE AS9100B
standard, Lockheed Martins Q4M requirements (which allows Rothe to qualify subcontractors for Lockheed Martin
work), and ANSI Z540 Part II (for the division's calibration system). In addition to Lockheed Martin, their
customer for the Orion project (NASA's Johnson Space Center) quality group accompanied Lockheed Martin.
The audit revealed no findings and qualified Rothe as fully approved for AS9100, Q4M, and ANSI Z540-1 Part II.
With the qualification for the Q4M process, REI's Manufacturing Division is approved to select, qualify,
and use their own internal suppliers for special processes. The auditor's were impressed with the level of detail
and thoroughness that the division undergoes in their supplier development program. This approval is significant,
as it will allow the division to shorten lead times and better control the quality of the final product provided
by the Manufacturing Division.
The management team for the division thanks all the employees for their hard work they put forth everyday and in achieving this status of approval from such a significant customer.
